All too often children act in a way that causes a bully to recognize that they are "easy prey" and will be able to get away with bullying and not be reported. Acting confident helps a great deal. The profile of a confident student is:
1. Stands tall regardless of height.
2. Smiles and shows life is enjoyable.
3. Exhibits confidence.
4. Looks others in the eye when speaking.
5. Never says anything critical about him/her self or about others.
6. Stands up and speaks up in a polite manner if something is not right.
7. Helps others when help is needed.
8. A cheerful volunteer.
9. Acts her/him self, and doesn't try to be something s/he is not.
10. Works hard to achieve well in academics.
11. Realizes her/his strengths and weaknesses and works to improve them.
12. Accepts challenges.
13. Displays good manners.
14. Shows respect to all.
A bully magnet displays opposite of the above. If you find you need to work on certain items above, begin by taking the easy ones first, and work on each of your weaknesses one at a time.
