Sherman is a very smart boy, in fact he always gets straight A's on his report card.  He's especially good with computers.  Some kids like to make fun of Sherman and call him names like "Geek" and "Nerd".  Though Sherman acts as if he doesn't mind, it really does hurt his feelings.  Just because he's a little different doesn't make it O.K. to make fun of him.  In fact it would be a very dull and boring world if everyone looked and acted the same.  Sherman says he expects to do very well as an adult.  In fact he hopes to own his own software company some day.  When asked if those who make fun of him now would ask him for a job as an adult, what would he do?  He answered by saying he would have to find out if they still act that way and look very carefully into what type of person they are as an adult.  And of course their abilities would also play an important part. We think that is a very good and mature way of looking at things.  Surely anyone talking to Sherman as an adult in the future would be embarrassed remembering how they acted toward him in school.  So, the lesson to learn here is not to do anything you may regret later.  We should show    R-E-S-P-E-C-T to everyone.  No one is to be treated as though they are not as good as others.  Everyone has a talent and everyone has something special they bring to society.  Get to know a person before you decide whether or not you like him.
